Hey there, jumper... welcome to the team!
Whether you’re brand new to jumping or just getting started with Crossrope, we’re so glad you’re here. You’ve taken the first (and hardest) step toward transforming your fitness routine and you’re not doing it alone.
Crossrope is more than a jump rope. It’s a movement, a mindset, and a full-body fitness experience. And you’re officially part of it.
We created this guide to help you feel confident as you begin your journey, give you tools to succeed, and show you just how much support you have along the way. Let’s jump in (pun intended 😉).
You’re Not Just Jumping Rope - You’re Joining a Fitness Experience
When most people think “jump rope,” they think of playgrounds or boxers. But with Crossrope, you're stepping into something far more powerful: a full-body, low-impact, high-reward workout that meets you where you are and grows with you.
Our system combines weighted ropes with strength-focused movements for a dynamic, results-driven fitness experience. Whether your goal is to get in shape, build endurance, gain strength, or simply move more, we’ve got you covered.

What You Should Know (And Where to Start)

2. Start with the Basics
If you’re brand new to jumping, don’t worry. You don’t need to be a pro to get started. We recommend:
-
Jump for 10-30 seconds, for a total of 3-5 minutes to start
-
Slowly increase your jump time each week
-
Mix in rest days and low-impact workouts
Starting small helps your body adapt and reduces the risk of shin splints.
3. Use the Right Equipment
Our ropes are built to be durable, but your body and your gear will thank you for taking extra care.
-
Use a jump rope mat for more joint support and shock absorption
-
A mat will also protect your ropes from scuffing on hard or abrasive surfaces
-
Wear supportive sneakers with good arch and ankle support

4. Get to Know Your Ropes
Every rope weight has a purpose:
-
Heavier ropes (like 1 LB or 2 LB) help build strength and improve coordination
-
Lighter ropes (like ¼ LB or ½ LB) increase speed, endurance, and cardio
We recommend that, as a beginner, start with the ½ LB rope. This will help you feel the rotation of the rope and help you learn faster. Play around with different weights in your workouts and feel the difference.
Beyond the Jump: A Full-Body Approach
Yes, we jump... but we also squat, lunge, press, and plank. Crossrope offers a holistic fitness experience that blends cardio with strength training. Inside the app, you’ll find workouts that combine jump rope intervals with:
-
Bodyweight movements (think burpees, push-ups, mountain climbers)
-
Kettlebell exercises for dynamic strength and power
-
Dumbbell circuits to build muscle and burn fat
These combos not only torch calories, they help you move better in everyday life.
👋 Meet Your Trainers
Our team of experienced trainers are here to teach, motivate, and inspire you. Each trainer brings their own personality and training style so you can find the coach that clicks with you. Whether you're following a low-impact session with Simone, a strength workout with Jennika, or a high-energy cardio burn with Chad, you'll feel like you're training with a friend.
They’ll guide you through every rep, every rope swing, and every sweaty finish. Plus, they offer a large library of instructional videos to teach you the proper way of doing each jump move.
