Sore Muscles After a Workout? Try This To Speed Up Muscle Recovery
Whether you’re trying to bulk up, slim down, get faster or be stronger, you’re putting your body into a state of stress to get there. And if you’re not listening to your body throughout your training, it’s a good way to end up with a nasty fitness hangover.
You’re putting in the hard work, so don’t let muscle + body pain put you out of commission. You need to make room for muscle recovery in your long-term training plan, especially if you’re using jump ropes in your routine.

Muscle recovery is, honestly, one of the most essential aspects of physical activity and overall wellness.

We’ve covered the topic of avoiding injury while jumping rope before, but we want to focus specifically on muscle recovery in this post.

Sore muscles and body aches are topics that pop up often in our Crossrope Jump Rope Fitness Community in posts like this one:

We’re particularly fond of Angie’s advice:

how to help muscle recovery

We love the Hypervolt Percussion Massage tool. So much so that we teamed up with Hyperice to write this article + share our best muscle recovery tips.

So, if you’ve ever been so sore after a workout that you cringe at the idea of putting on jeans or walking up the stairs, keep reading. We’re here to help.

Let’s go!

Defining Muscle Recovery

Muscle recovery is the body’s process of passive or active rejuvenation to a healthier state after enduring physical stress.

Let’s break that down.

Your body has a natural state of balance where all of its internal gears are turning regularly.

Physical stress throws this balance out of whack.

When we work out, we create tiny tears in our muscles, and this is a form of stress that makes us feel achy and sore.

Muscle recovery is the time, attention, and care you give your body so it can restore its natural balance and rhythm.

Why You Shouldn’t Overlook Muscle Recovery

Without muscle recovery, you’re putting your body’s natural balance at risk, which can lead to injuries and symptoms of overtraining.

On the flip side, allowing your body to go through the physical stress of exercise and following it up with post-workout recovery is healthy

Muscle recovery time allows the body to build strength, improve cardiovascular endurance, increase metabolism, and replenish energy.

Your body needs rest and multiple techniques to recover well + speed up muscle recovery,

Using Percussion Massage for Muscle Recovery

Using Hyperice technology can speed up muscle recovery and help your body rally more efficiently.

Often, people will use traditional foam rollers or even tennis balls to massage their muscles after a workout. These tools can be time-consuming and not to mention uncomfortable for people who are only starting to learn how to relieve sore muscles with self-myofascial release. It can be challenging to hit knots and inconvenient to roll out on the floor or use a wall for support.

There are much better muscle recovery tools, like a percussion massage.

The Benefits of Percussion Therapy with Hypervolt

Percussion therapy with the Hypervolt by Hyperice has several proven benefits.

  1. Improves range of motion
  2. Decreases delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
  3. Relieves muscle stiffness
  4. Promotes local circulation
  5. Speeds up muscle recovery

Integrating percussion or vibration therapy with Hyperice technology will help you perform your very best during your jump rope routine, prevent injury, and aid in time efficiency for those busy bees who like short workouts.

The handheld percussion massage device can be conveniently used seated or standing. Thanks to its ergonomic design, it allows one to reach those hard-to-hit spots like the lower back and upper traps with ease.

With its Quiet Glide™ technology, you can literally use the Hypervolt in any environment without any noise complaints. Overall the Hypervolt offers a calming and therapeutic experience. It’s like re-creating a spa experience wherever you are!

With different head attachments and speed levels, you can truly customize the experience based on your needs and preferences.

The Hypervolt GO is the perfect companion for your Crossrope jump ropes when you’re traveling or if you’re on the move between home, work, and the gym.

Best Muscle Recovery Routines for Jump Rope Training

In general, you want to spend about 30 to 60 seconds on each muscle.

Glide the Hypervolt at a gentle pace of 1 inch per second, feeling out for any tender spots or knots. If you feel a knot or marble, hold the Hypervolt on that spot for about 30 seconds or until you feel a sense of relaxation. Avoid bony landmarks, including your spine and the head.
